Here you will find a list of the waypoints loaded in CompetitionPilot.
You can import new ones from a memory card (in CompeGPS or
OziExplorer .wpt formats) if available.
By means of the "Filter" text field you can restrict the
waypoints shown in the list to those beginning with
the string entered in the field.
When a waypoint is selected from the list, its coordinates and
height are shown. You can give a goto command to the
selected waypoint.
From this page menu you can edit an existing waypoint data, create a new
waypoint or duplicate an existing one. By using the Garmin protocol
you can download the waypoints from your Garmin GPS.
Num of wpts

Shows the number of waypoints stored in memory.
Coordinates and altitude of the selected waypoint. The display format
of the coordinates can be changed by means of the drop-down menu.
enable/disable GPWPL

CompetitionPilot can import waypoints in NMEA format transmitted
via the $GPWPL sentence. This is particularly convenient when your
GPS can transmit waypoints in this format.
If you own an MLR GPS you can transfer the waypoint data to
CompetitionPilot. The MLR receiver uses a specific syntax for the
"$GPWPL" sentence that allows transferring also the waypoint
description. In this case you should choose the "GPWPL MLR"
item from the drop-down list.
When selected, CompetitionPilot uses the altitude data coded in the
waypoint name. Otherwise, it uses the altitude data contained in the
waypoint data. Waypoint names following the standard name coding
start with a letter (that normally identify the flight area),
followed by a two-digit number that labels the waypoint and ends with
a three-digit number that indicates the waypoint altitude in tens of meters.
"M06082", for example, is the name of the waypoint number 06. Its
height is 820 m.
The altitude data is not always contained in the waypoint internal data.
If the names are in the standard format, it is safer to select this
option.
The import drop-down list allows you to import
in CompetitionPilot waypoint files in CompeGPS or OziExplorer .wpt formats
from a memory card (choosing from card from the
drop-down menu on the right) if one is present in the palm expansion slot.
It is also possible to import waypoint files directly from the
palm memory (choosing from memory,) stored in a CompetitionPilot specific format
Touching import with the palm stylus, the list of
available waypoint files is displayed.
Waypoint files can be transferred on the card by copying them directly
from your PC onto it. They can also be copied on the card during
an hotsync operation if the card is present in the palm expansion slot.
Warning: waypoint files must be copied in the "PALM/CPilot/Waypoints"
folder or CompetitionPilot will not be able to import them.
When from card is selected, CompetitionPilot will show
the .wpt files stored in the "PALM/CPilot/Waypoints" folder in the
memory card when the import drop-down list is open;
When from memory is selected, CompetitionPilot will show
the waypoint files stored in the palm RAM memory.
The possibility to store and recall waypoints from the palm RAM
memory is particularly convenient if your palm computer is not
equipped with an expansion slot.
If a memory card is available, it is advisable to save your
waypoints on this rather than on the RAM memory. If your palm runs
out of battery, the data on the memory card will be safe while those
in the RAM could be lost.
This button allows you to
export
the waypoint list in CompeGPS .wpt format via
Infrared, BlueTooth or serial connection. You can also save them
on a memory card or on the palm RAM memory.
The waypoints can also be exported over a serial connection in NMEA
format, for example when you want to transfer them to a GPS.
Only the waypoints shown in the list (filtered by means of the
Filter text field) will be exported.
Pressing this button, CompetitionPilot will start to navigate
to the selected waypoint. If a route is active, it will be deactivated.
This menu is specific of the waypoint page.
It will allow you to manage the waypoints.

in the waypoint-editing page,
allowing you to modify its data.
Create new

Creates a new waypoint and opens it in the
waypoint-editing page,
allowing you to enter its data.

waypoint-editing page.
Download Waypoints

This command allows to transfer all the waypoints from your
Garmin GPS to the palm if you are using the Garmin protocol.
CompetitionPilot deletes the selected waypoint
(after asking for confirmation).
It is not possible to delete a waypoint if it is used
in one of the routes. In this case, CompetitionPilot will show
an error message:

This command deletes all the waypoints shown in the list
(not ALL the waypoints).
By means of the "Filter" text field you can restrict the
waypoints shown in the list to those beginning with
the string entered in the field.
CompetitionPilot will ask you to confirm before deleting the waypoints.
The waypoints used in the routes will not be deleted.
In this case no error message will be shown.
From here you can create/modify waypoints.
